Santiago de Compostela Cathedral — Pilgrimage End Board

Inside, the Romanesque Pórtico de la Gloria is considered one of the finest works of medieval sculpture in the world. The famous Botafumeiro — a giant incense burner swung by eight men on a rope across the transept — is a spectacle found nowhere else. The tomb of the Apostle St. James lies beneath the high altar.
