Souvenir cutting board featuring Peine del Viento (The Wind Comb) — Eduardo Chillida’s most famous sculpture installation, embedded in the rocks at the western end of La Concha Bay. Three weathered Corten steel sculptures, each weighing 10 tonnes, appear to grow organically from the seaside cliffs, their comb-like forms ‘combing’ the wind and waves of the Bay of Biscay. Installed in 1977 with terraces designed by architect Luis PeГ±a Ganchegui, the site transforms dramatically with the tides — from peaceful contemplation at low tide to explosive spray at high tide. One of Spain’s most important works of public art.
