Cuenca Casas Colgadas — Hanging Houses Board

Souvenir cutting board featuring Cuenca’s legendary Casas Colgadas (Hanging Houses) — medieval buildings that appear to defy gravity, their wooden balconies jutting out over the edge of a sheer 200-meter cliff above the HuГ©car River gorge. Built between the 14th and 15th centuries, these houses were originally common along the cliff edge, but only three survive today. One now houses the Museum of Spanish Abstract Art, where masterpieces by Chillida, TГ pies, and Saura are displayed in rooms with views straight down into the abyss. The Hanging Houses are Cuenca’s most photographed landmark and a symbol of Spain’s UNESCO-listed old town.
