Tarragona Pont del Diable — Roman Aqueduct Board

Souvenir cutting board featuring the Pont del Diable (Devil’s Bridge) — Tarragona’s magnificent Roman aqueduct, also known as Les Ferreres Aqueduct. Built in the 1st century BC under Emperor Augustus, this 217-meter double-tiered bridge stands 27 meters high, with 25 arches on the upper level and 11 on the lower. According to legend, the Devil built it in a single night in exchange for the soul of the first person to cross it (the clever villagers sent a donkey). Part of Tarragona’s UNESCO World Heritage Site, this aqueduct carried water 25 km from the FrancolГ­ River to the Roman city — a testament to the engineering genius of ancient Rome.
