La Granja de San Ildefonso — Spanish Versailles Board

Built by Philip V in the 18th century to remind him of his childhood at Versailles, the palace features a baroque facade, sumptuous interiors with Flemish tapestries, and — most spectacularly — 26 ornamental fountains in its formal gardens. Several times a year, the fountains are activated in their full glory, shooting water up to 40 meters high, powered entirely by gravity from mountain springs.
